Uganda is facing a humanitarian crisis.

Mathematica conducted a cost analysis of child well-being in Uganda and determined that there is an estimated 2,000,000 orphans and vulnerable children in Uganda. 16% of them have disabilities that make them more likely to be neglected, mistreated, and denied education. Many are abandoned or abused.

What we are doing about it.

Zee Foundation supports 50 orphans in the towns of Kyankwanzi and Busunju in Central Uganda. Hundreds of other abandoned children are seeking access to Zee Foundation resources as well. But we can’t take them in without your help!

How far we've come

As a result of the crisis, Uganda is experiencing an increase in the rate and risk of school dropouts – as well as sexual gender-based violence among children in Uganda. The result has been high incidences of teenage pregnancies, early marriages, teen drug abuse, and suicide.

To address these needs, Zee Foundation has doubled our efforts to mitigate the impact on these children. We invest in their physical and mental healthcare and a well-rounded education.

Our impact by the numbers.

50

orphans and vulnerable children are under our round-the-clock care. We provide living facilities, food, water, and access to schooling and medicine.

7

school children are learning vocational skills in tailoring, beauty and cosmetology, motor vehicle engineering, and electrical installation.

450

teenagers have formed a youth soccer league. In addition to the benefits of exercise teamwork, the kids are learning about teen pregnancy, menstrual hygiene and preventing child sexual violence.

315

children have been enrolled in back-to-school enrollment campaigns in the aftermath of the pandemic.
